Product Description

 

The drinking water filter cartridge is used to filter impurities in the dispenser, ensuring safe drinking water. The main filter elements include PP filter elements, activated carbon filter elements, ultrafiltration filter elements, RO filter elements, and more.

 

This is our anti-scale water filter, featuring a CTO-activated carbon filter element with added antiscalant. Antiscalants help prevent the formation of scale and protect the water tank.

Type of Drinking Water Filter Cartridge

 

First Stage: 5μm PPF Filter Element
The pore size of the PPF filter element is 5 microns, which effectively filters out coarse solid impurities such as rust and sand in the water.

 

Second Stage: Granular Activated Carbon Filter Element
Granular high-adsorption activated carbon effectively absorbs chlorine, odors, discoloration, and other substances in the water.

 

Third Stage: 1μm PPF Filter Element
The 1μm PPF filter element can more effectively remove smaller molecular particles in the water.

 

Fourth Stage: RO Membrane
The reverse osmosis membrane, with a pore size of 0.0001 microns, effectively removes bacteria, toxins, heavy metal ions, salt, and other harmful substances from the water.

 

Fifth Stage: Post-Activated Carbon Filter Element
Improves the taste of purified water.

 

What is limescale?

 

Limescale is the deposit of calcium and magnesium ions in water. It often forms in household water storage equipment and can pose a health risk over time. Limescale builds up gradually when water is boiled or when a cup is used for drinking water over an extended period.

 

What is scale

 

We often notice a thick layer of hard material on the inner walls of a kettle after prolonged use. This is "scale" or "water alkali." When water is heated, calcium and magnesium ions dissolve and form water-insoluble compounds with certain acidic ions, resulting in two water-insoluble precipitates: "calcium carbonate" and "magnesium carbonate." These precipitates adhere to the vessel and gradually form a thick scale layer. The presence of scale indicates that, although the water may appear clear and transparent, it still contains impurities. For example, if we drop a few drops of tap water on a glass and let it evaporate naturally, we can see visible marks left behind. Similarly, when rain or tap water splashes on glasses and dries, it leaves behind cloudy marks. All of these examples demonstrate that our water contains various impurities.

 

How Harmful is Limescale?

 

1. Limescale can lead to gastrointestinal disorders, digestive issues, and urinary system diseases, such as constipation. When calcium and magnesium ions dissolve in water, they are absorbed by the body and can affect blood vessels, skin, and other tissues. One of the most common risks is the development of kidney stones.

 

2. Limescale has poor thermal conductivity, which reduces the heat transfer efficiency of heating surfaces, leading to wasted fuel or electricity. For example, if a kettle accumulates limescale, its heating power can be reduced by up to 30%, resulting in increased electricity consumption. In the case of electric water heaters, this could mean that, if the monthly water heating cost is 30 yuan, as much as 10 yuan is wasted due to limescale buildup.

3. If limescale is cemented to the inner walls of a water heater or boiler, it significantly increases the risk of bursting or explosion due to thermal expansion, contraction, and uneven stress. When limescale builds up, heavy metal ions often become trapped in it. If the container is used to store drinking water, there is a risk of these harmful metals leaching into the water.

This process generates a large number of weakly electrically charged groups, which interact with cations such as copper, iron, calcium, and magnesium ions, as well as anions like carbonate, bicarbonate, and sulfate ions present in the water. These interactions create weak electrical interference, which effectively neutralizes the scaling factors in the water, preventing the formation of limescale.

What are the factors that affect the effect of limescale inhibitors?

 

1. Amount of Limescale Inhibitors Used
The effectiveness of limescale inhibitors depends on the amount used. Our scale inhibitors are significantly more effective than traditional materials at the same dosage. However, using more isn't always better. The key is finding the appropriate ratio to ensure both effectiveness and cost-efficiency.

 

2. Solution Turbidity
The turbidity of the solution affects the performance of limescale inhibitors, but the impact varies depending on the type of inhibitor. While turbidity can hinder the effectiveness of certain unit polymers and multi-polymers, it can enhance the performance of some scale inhibitors. In general, higher turbidity tends to improve the scale inhibition effect.

 

3. Iron Ion Concentration
As the concentration of iron ions increases, the scale inhibition effect on calcium carbonate in circulating water decreases. Most limescale inhibitors are affected by the presence of iron ions. To improve scale inhibition, it's important to minimize the concentration of iron ions as much as possible.

 

4. Acidity and Alkalinity
The pH level of water (acidity or alkalinity) plays a significant role in the effectiveness of limescale inhibitors. Some inhibitors work better in acidic environments, while others are more suited to alkaline conditions. It is important to choose the right inhibitor for the specific environment.
