The climate is becoming more and more extreme. During heavy rainfall, secondary disasters such as mountain torrents, landslides, collapses, and urban and rural waterlogging may occur. The World Health Organization reminds us that when floods occur, drinking water sources may be polluted. Therefore, a special drinking water hygiene and safety guide is issued:

1. Do not drink raw water. Drink boiled water, bottled water, water prepared on-site by purification equipment, or barreled water; do not drink water from unknown sources or contaminated water, and do not use water from unknown sources or contaminated water to rinse your mouth or wash vegetables; do not eat rotten or spoiled food, do not eat drowned or dead poultry and livestock, and strictly prevent diseases from entering the mouth; water containers such as jars, buckets, and basins in the home should be disinfected frequently, and can only be used after being rinsed with clean water.

2. Pay attention to hand hygiene. Wash your hands with running water and soap (or hand sanitizer), and do not rub your eyes with your hands, especially dirty hands. Personal towels, washbasins, and handkerchiefs should be used separately and washed after use. Unknown pathogens in rainwater may cause allergies or even blood spots, rashes, eczema, etc. Therefore, avoid soaking your hands and feet in water for a long time, and wash the wet parts with clean water in time to prevent skin ulcers and skin diseases.

3. Consciously protect the source of drinking water and the environment, and promptly remove the pollution sources such as sludge, garbage, animal feces, and animal carcasses around and upstream of the water source, especially to keep toilets and other key parts clean and hygienic. Stack domestic garbage and dump domestic sewage at designated locations, do not discard garbage at will, and clean up rainwater and garbage around the house in time.

4. For damaged water supply facilities, water supply should be stopped immediately, and water supply can only be resumed after the water recedes, after thorough cleaning and disinfection, and after passing the inspection.

5. If you have discomfort symptoms, such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, etc., you must not be blindly careless, especially the elderly and children, and must seek medical treatment in time.

6. Pay attention to changes in the quality of drinking water at home, such as water color, bromine taste, turbidity, etc. Once abnormal conditions are found, they should be reported to the relevant management department in time for timely treatment.

7. Install an under-sink water purifier to ensure that the water you receive is safe.
